SPA BOARD MEETING – FRIDAY, MAY 9TH  - 12:30 PM in the Library. 

2008-2009 SCHOOL REGISTRATION:   The second half of your registration fees are due byMay 23rd.  Don’t delay on getting your payment to the office.   See #3 below if not paid by the 23rd. 

TUITION, SACC and LUNCH PAYMENTS:  The end of school is getting close and you must getyour accounts up to date.   SEE DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS (page 18 in your handbook:   ANY  FAMILY BEHIND IN THEIR TUITION, SACC BILLS, LUNCH ACCOUNTS, REGISTRATION FEES and LOST or DAMAGED BOOKS, THE FOLLOWING WILL TAKE PLACE.                  IF ACCOUNTS ARE NOT PAID BY MAY 16TH  THE FOLLOWING WILL APPLY:1.    Students will not receive their report cards2.    Eighth grade students will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.3.    Registration papers will not be processed for the next school year.4.    Transcripts will not be sent to other schools until all accounts are paid in full.Reminder:   Lunch payments – must be a separate check                                 Do not include lunch payment in tuition check. 

PRESCHOOL and KINDERGARTEN -  Open House – Tomorrow - Thursday,  May 8th ,  6-7 pm.This Open House is for all children and their parents that are either already registered or interested in attending  St. Joseph School Preschool or Kindergarten.  Information has been mailed.          

RELAY FOR LIFE – FUNDRAISER FOR LIFE – June  6 & 7:  You can help by being a team member,  making a donation to the American Cancer Society or purchasing a luminary.  See attached memo for more details.   Thank you in advance.          

07-08 YEARBOOKS:   It’s not too late to order your yearbook  - now at $22.00.  Order  forms  are available in the school office .    Yearbooks will be distributed during the last week of school.                             ORDER NOW SO YOU DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS GREAT EDITION !!    

 LAST DAY OF SCHOOL – MAY 23RD – Prayer service and Awards at 9:30 am – grades 1st – 8th.Dismissal at 11:30 am.  NO AFTERSCHOOL PROVIDED THAT AFTERNOON!          

 8th GRADE GRADUATION  - Friday – May 23rd – 6:00 pm at ST. JOSEPH CHURCH.             USED UNIFORM SALE – Continuing tomorrow , Thursday (5/8) from 7:30 to 9:30 am.   Also, we have lots of Lost & Found items on display at the uniform sale, so be sure to check if any items might belong to your child, if not claimed, they go to St. Vincent.          

 APRIL SACC BILLS attached to the scene today.   ALL PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY MAY 16TH 

SPRING MUSIC PROGRAM – GRADES K-2 will be May 15th in the gym, along with the choir & Drama Club presenting “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”.   Grades K-2 wear dressy casual clothes. There will be a SPA meeting at 6:30 pm followed by the Music Program.                  

  LAST DANCE:  The student council will host their final middle school dance this Friday, May 9th, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm in the gym.  Cost of admission is $3.00.                                                

SCHOOL STORE:   Next Wednesday, May 14th is the last day for the school store to be open.

    LIBRARY CLUB FIELD TRIP:  Drivers are needed for field trip this Friday, May 9th.   We will leave at 9:00 and return around 11:00.  You must be on the approved chaperone /driver list in the office.  Please call Mrs. Jackson at 535-2448.  We’ll have to cancel if we don’t get enough.

 LIBRARY – BOOK RETURN:  All students need to have all book returned to the library on or before May 16th.   Lost books MUST be paid for before report cards can be issued.

 ACCELERATED READER  - Last day for students to take the test is  May 20th (Tues.) 

SCRIP UPDATE:   The new year for tuition credit has started with the April Kroger recharges and Scrip orders and purchases.   Tuition credits for  07-08  have been mailed.  Return letters ASAP so money can be applied accordingly to registration fees and/or tuition.          

 SCHOOL LUNCH:    We encourage everyone to Pre-Pay money into your child’s account.  Please make sure your child has enough money in his/her lunch account - if accounts are getting low or payment is due.  SEE ATTACHED LUNCH NOTICES.          

 USED BOOK SALE for 2008-2009:  It’s time to start saving books, CD’s, DVD’s, Board Games (with all pieces) and Computer Programs for the fall Used Book Sale.  More info later.                   

  ALUMNI NEWS:  The following St. Joseph School alumni attending BGHS placed at the March regional foreign language competition at WKU.  They are Karla Lazo; Sophie Wholtjen and Thomas Dooley.  Wholtjen and Dooley will compete on the State level at UK in May.   Congratulations!    

 INFO on SPORT CAMPS:  The following registration brochures and info are available in St. Joseph School office for upcoming camps.1.    Greenwood Volleyball  (Girls entering grade 3-7) May 28,29,30(Space is limited, so sign up now)2.    Purples Basketball – June 2-63.    Jumpin’ Jaguars – Jump Rope Clinic – June 9-13(Registration due by May 23rd)4.    WKU Football Camp – July 2008(Students entering grades 1-8)

 FIELD DAY – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for COOKOUT – MAY 21 – Volunteers are needed on Wednesday, May 21st, starting at 10:30 am to 12:30 to prepare lunch  bags, cook etc.  If you can help out, please call the school office at 842-1235. 

FIELD DAY T-SHIRTS – Wednesday, May 21st:  Classes K-5 will have a colored t-shirt to design and wear for field day with uniform shorts or skorts.  Students in grades K – 5 need to send $3.00 to their teacher for the cost of the t-shirts (do not include with other payments).   Middle school will wear their house shirts.
